1. A Hard Reset Function;

Make sure that your printer is directly connected to the power source and there is no surge protector.

  • While your printer is on, detach the power wire from the backside of the printer and take out the power wire from the wall socket.
  • Get rid of the USB wire if it is there.
  • Then, wait for a few minutes and then press+hold the power button on your printer for approximately half a minute to get rid of any additional charge.
  • The next step is to plug the power cable directly into the electric wall socket without using any surge protector or extension board. 
  • Now plug the power wire back to the printer.
  • Finally, switch on the printer and then wait till the end of the warm-up period. Leave the printer idle till then. 

2. Update The HP Printer’s Firmware;

In case the first step does not resolve the problem, it is recommended to update the HP printer’s firmware. For that;

  • For this, Attach your printer to the computer system using a USB cord. 
  • Next, go to the official portal of the HP printer firmware update to check.
  • If the firmware update is available for your printer then get it.
  • You can also update the printer firmware directly from the printer’s control panel. 

3. Assign A Public DNS;

  • First of all, click on the wireless button on the HP printer.
  • Then, click on the control panel to get the IP address of the printer.
  • On the web browser where the printer’s official portal is opened, fill in the IP address to get the printer’s EWS page on your system.
  • The next step is to visit the Network tab. Then choose ‘general’ and then choose ‘Network protocols’. 
  • Now, click on Enable IPv4 the only option. Now, click to apply the settings.
  • Next, go to the ‘Network’ tab and tap on the ‘Wireless (802.11) option. Now you have to tap on the network address (IPv4).
  • Next, you have to tap on the radio tab which tells ‘Manual IP’, and then opt for the ‘Suggest a manual IP address to assign a manual IP address to your HP printer.
  • Next, tap on the radio button that tells ‘Manual DNS Server’ and fill 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 under manual preferred and manual alternate respectively.
  • Check if the issue has been resolved by rebooting the printer. 

4. Uninstallation And Reinstallation Of The Printer Drivers;

  • The first step is to remove the USB cord from the printer.
  • Secondly, navigate to the Control Panel and visit the Programs and features. Then choose the HP Officejet printer entries and uninstall them.
  • The next step is to navigate to the Control Panel and then click on the Devices and printer option.
  • Choose all the printer entries and then get rid of them.
  • Launch the run dialogue box by pressing the windows and r buttons together and type ‘printui.exe/s’ and shoot the enter button.
  • Remove any entries from the Drivers menu present in the Print Server properties.
  • Once again open the run dialogue box and fill ‘c:/programdata’ there.
  • Now visit the HP folder and get rid of any printer-associated folders. 

5. Reboot The Computer System;

  • Finally, tap on the link  https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers and fill in the printer model and operating system you are downloading the printer driver software on.
  • Follow the on-screen guidelines after connecting the USB cord when prompted. Complete the setup process.
